View Article  Empire State Building to be involved with Subway Series
**Posted By Sal**

The Empire State Building is about to do something they never did before...Participate in the Subway Series. During the Subway Series Half the Building will be lit up METS Blue and Orange. The Other half will be lit up Blue And White. On Monday night the building will be lit up by the color of the team that wins the series.

Are they going to do this for the next series too? The team that wins the season series should get their color lit on the building the rest of the season. I think it's a great idea that they are doing this. It's a better idea than whoever wins the all-sar game gets home field advantage in the WS.

The Mets Win the Series So check out the Empire State Building Monday night to see the BLUE n' ORANGE. Here is a preview picture of building in Mets colors, but it's bad quality. It is so much better in person.

**POSTED BY SAL**

As I said In the title "Pitching Today for the Mets is...." JASON VARGAS!

Vargas takes Moises Alou's spot on the roster. Alou was placed on the DL right after yesterdays game. Since Alou is on the DL Carlos Gomez should see more playing time platooning with Endy. Vargas is a Lefty. The Mets got him in the off season for Henry Owens and Matt Lindstorm.

For some reason I always liked Vargas. I'm Happy he is starting today. Now all Vargas has to do before he is a Met. CUT YOUR HAIR. Imagine him without Hair. I also like Gomez, So it's good he's getting more playing time.

Today's Game: 1:10 PM in Shea Vargas is going up against Angel Guzman

The Mets defeated the Brew crew today 9-1. It was one of the best pure games that the mets have played this season. The 'B' team played better then it ever has. Great pitching, great hitting and great bat colors.

Carlos Gomez looked very good, making a beautiful catch as well and a few base knocks and a stolen base. I dont know if hes faster then Reyes but he looked like he could compete with that stolen base. He also looked 1000 times more relaxed in the feild then Lastings did...

The outfeild D was spectacular today. With all 3 speedsters out there in Endy, B-Train(I like it), and Gomez, they didnt let anything get away. For once when a ball went to right feild I didnt have to cringe.

Ollie was beautiful, making a mockery of the "best team in baseball". He completly dominated them. I know the Bill Hall HR ruined his 1 hit shutout, but you had to feel a little better knowing that he wasnt gonna pitch a complete 1 hitter with that one hit being the pitcher Capuano(who was awful) right?

Why did Willie take out Perez after that HR, was it just so he could get that nice ovation, because that wasnt a spot that heilman needed. As Sal pointed out, I bet that ovation will be on every highlight reel this year as well as SNY commercials just like Pedro's least year.

When that Villinuava guy was pithing, I was able to predict every pitch he threw to Beltran when he struck him out. I think the league is learning the curveball to B-Train trick.

I just found out why that guy on my baseball team wears # 27. He mustve looked into the future and saw that Gomez was gonna come up today and wear 27 so he took it before anyone else could. Good move and now Im stuck with Green's 20!

As I said in the title, I watched on my little TV and the mets looked great from there too. Theyre starting to click. BTW, the Braves got pummled by Pitt todays so were just a 1/2 game out going into a 4 gamer with the Cubs.

Happy Mother's day!
View Article  So Does PEREZ
**Posted By SAL**

This following up on Matt's Article on Sosa. Perez pitched 8 Innings today. He gave up only 2 hits. The first hit was a BLOOP single from Chris Capuano. The second hit was a little worse. A Home Run in the Ninth.

Did you hear the Ovation Perez Got after being taken out in the ninth? It's Going to be on highlight reels for a few weeks...possibly Months. Perez looked so happy after the game. I don't know if it was the 2 Hit game or making up from last game he pitched. The game in San Fran wasn't his fault.

Gomez also looked good. Two hits in his first game. (SINGLE AND DOUBLE) He even had a SB. He looked good in the field. A nice diving catch and no errors.

Heilman despite giving up a single to the first batter looked good. And the single wasn't even his fault. Endy Should've caught it. It landed in The triangle.

Easley Hit another HR. Easley's Bat has 3 HR's In 3 Games. (Friday- Easley Sat- Newhan Sun- Easley)

Reyes hit a triple. Beltran Homered. Wright had 3 Stolen Bases.

Tommorow Night the Mets Take on the cubs In Shea at 7:10 PM. Glavine Goes For Another Step until 300. Maine on Tuesday night. Sosa Wednesday Night.

METS SENT DOWN PELFREY AND RECALLED GOMEZ (CARLOS GOMEZ)
View Article  Sosa Looks Good
After a start last week in Arizona, against the Diamondbacks, Mets pitcher Jorge Sosa pitched 6 innings, only allowing two runs.

Now, you didn't know if that was just a fluke, coming off the horrendous season in Atlanta and St. Louis the year before in 2006, where Sosa went 3-11 with a 5.42 EAR in 13 starts and 32 relief appearances.

But he seems to be gaining more credibility since his AAA-Nawlins performance so far this year, going 4-0 with a roughly 1.25 ERA, and the start in Arizona.

Well, he just added a little bit more legitimacy tonight against the Brewers, who came into the game riding a 6-game win streak, and holding the proverbial heavyweight title of the majors, sporting a 24-10 record.

Sosa dethroned them with 6.1 innings and only allowing 2 ER. Maybe he is for real. Let's look at the tape.

Although, as I layed out for you a few paragraphs ago, Sosa was disgusting last year. However, the year before in 2005, Sosa was 13-3 in 20 starts and 24 relief appearances with a very meager 2.55 ERA over 134 innings.

It seems to me that we'll have to hold on for a week or so, and really observe Sosa, and hopefully we could get something close to the 2005 version.

...that would be nice. i've liked this guy, not because he's got great stuff, or because of his 2005 performance, but more because of his versatility, switching between starter and long relief. god forbid Tom Glavine goes down, or we need a replacement for Aaron Sele in the 'pen, it gives Omar Minaya, Willie Randolph and the fans some peace of mind to know we have a guy like this to fill the gaps...

Due to extenuating circumstances (we were in school), neither me nor Sal (unless he was pretending to be sick which he successfully does all the time) saw any piece of this afternoon's met game.

Therefore, we are unable to give you a recap of what WE saw. We could just lie and spit out numbers from the box score, but that wouldn't be funny, would it?

Ok, awful series, nice bounce-back. Hopefully we can do our thing that we tend to do when we visit AZ, completely demolish them, even when guys like Alay Soler pitch. Our bats are starting to heat up, so watch out D-backs.

It'll be weird seeing the D-backs in their new red jerseys. When we think of red baseball teams, you think of pretty much every team you dont like(Phillies, Braves, Red Sox, Cardinals, Angles). Now we have to add the D-backs to that list...weird...
