So here we are, in the mitst of a major rainstorm, missing our Mets try to hold off the Washington Nationals. I am very upset because I was planning on going to this game with Sal and it was one of the only opprotunities I'm gonna have until skools over! For most people staying inside, there is really NOTHING to watch. You got the Knicks who have already been eliminated by my Nets at 6:00. You got my Nets already clinching at 3:30. You can also go with whatever nba on abc game is on (Bulls/wizards now, Mavs/Spurs at 3:30) or the AFL NY Dragons right now! If you want to watch some baseball action, the Graves Vs. Fish game is on TBS. And of corse, everyone will wanna watch our old pal Mike Piazza and the A's play the Shanks at 4:30. Good luck entertaining yourselves!

Im gonna have to be completly honest here, I nor Sal watched none of today's game therefore we are unable to give you a recap. What I did see was that El Duque imploded in the 6th with those HRs. The whole thing with hitting the pitcher and getting ejected was very bad, but you had to figure Willie was gonna take him out very soon anyways(I think). Missing: Mets Offence. If found please deliver it to Shea stadium or directly into Carlos Delgado (although he played well today), Carlos Beltran, and/or Jose Valentin. Thanx Seriously, When is the O gonna start to click? We've benn enjoying some nice individual numbers but there has'nt been a time when everyone was on. Ok, lets take 2/3 from wasington. Hopefully there wont be a monsoon tomorrow because me and Sal are planning on going to the game! Friday, April 13

According to Matt Hinrich's Brogna blog, the long island ducks and former Met ofer Richard Hidalgo have agreed to terms. Hidalgo was acquired by the Mets by genius GM Jim Duquette in a deal that sent Dan Wheeler to Houston. I'm sure Sal is trilled to hear this. Me and Sal usually make our way out to a Duck game, last time getting Buddy Harrleson's autograph. He will join former met Eduardo Alfonzo.

Wow, we really needed this one. The Mets couldn't lose 2 straight series to their two biggest division rivals in a row. And they didn't. Glavine began the day the way Ollie did yesterday. As a matter of fact, I was a little late getting to the tube, getting there at around 7:12, and I was shocked when I saw we were already down. Throughout the game, I was waiting for the huge offensive outburst, and even though it never came as a whole, it came in little shreds. Reyes continues to dominate however, everyone else is still sleeping. Beltran looked awful striking out with the bases loaded (at least he swung...), Delgado has looked terrible all year, and Wright had a nice shot in the 7th which raised my confidence about him. Alouuuu is also dominating and I cannot even begin to fathom why Sal still despises this guy. Who cares if he pees on his hands Sal, as long as hes contributing why the hatred? Shawn Green has also been playing very well. Easley looked a little overmatched, but he had good at bats which is nice to see. Now this is a public service announcement towards SNY. PLEASE SNY, DONT USE THOSE SCORCARD STYLE STATS LIKE THEY DO ON YES! I HATE THOSE AND I'M PROBLY NOT THE ONLY ONE! USE REGULAR STATS LIKE 2-4 WITH A DOUBLE INSTEAD OF THIS NONSENSE! THANX! Good game guys, lets try to annihilate those Nats this weekend Wednesday, April 11

This was bad. Ollie Perez was awful, walking 7 guys. He was luckey the Phillies offence is so bad or it could've been a lot worse. He gave up 3 runs in less then 3 inning, walking 4 in a row and then hitting one. That was one of the worst individual performances I've ever seen( Im only 15 years old). However, Aaron Sele did impress, pitching a solid 4 innings yeilding 2 runs. He also looked like a pretty good hitter(that fly ball he hit the other way I actually thought had a chance...). The Mets offense just wasn't there. They were awful. When they loaded the bases with no outs I was like,"ok, huge inning" but yet surprisingly satisfied with just that one run. I dont know what when over me, I just continued to believe the Mets offense will explode at some point. How sick was it watching that overpaid loser Adam Eaton pitch so well? He was just mowing us down one by one. Is it just me or is Carlos Delgado the least dependable guy in our lineup that we can trust not to strike out? Its awful when he leads off the inning with a bad strikeout. Joe smith pitched very well, and he showed he can jump just as high as Joe Smith can. That cat also had some mad hops! As always, Ron Keith and Gary were very entertaining, making such a dull game interesting. That whole thing with those weird lines Keith made was hilarious (sorry you missed it Sal). Wow, the met fans really killed that Shank fan, on TV it sounded like the entire stadium was cheering "Yankees Suck!" When I heard that, I immediately thought Sal and his brother had something to do with it. They are very out spoken at Met(and ranger) games as opposed to me who prefers eating! Not to make any excuses but the umps were horrible tonight. That Utley swing was not even close. Keith had a funny line when he said that an ump with gloves and a ski mask you cant take seriously! Good stuff! Alright, time for the Offence to show up as we go for the series win tomorrow.

As Sal is off to tonight's Met game, I will be stuck here watching it on TV. Yes, I would've much rather gone with Sal, but due to situations beyond my control, I was unable to. Oh well, at least I get to listen to Ron, Keith, and Gary as my consolation prize! Have fun out there Sal!

Opening Day finally arrived and it was time for the rematch of the thrilling NLCS between the world champion Cardinals and the best team in baseball the Mets. Both teams were sending out their aces Tom Glavine for the Mets and Chris Carpenter for the Cardinals. The Mets got off to a rocketing start as they swept the Cardinals and won their first four games of the season. The Mets silenced the critics of having no starting pitching by only giving up 3 runs in the first 4 games while scoring 31 themselves. Jose Reyes is considered the best all around player in the game is off to another fabulous year. However the Mets have dropped 3 of the last 4 games and sit 2 games back of the Braves. Anyway the Mets look like they will have a great year, repeat as NL East Champs and hopefully make it to the World Series.

I attended yesterday's game- the first time I have ever been to a home opener. And let me tell you, even though it was cold, the fans were pumped during the game. Here's a synopsis of what happened.
Phillies Introductions- The Phillies were, as you could of guessed, booed mercilessly. Manager Charlie Manuel was the first member of the team to be met with real boos, and Ryan Howard was booed pretty hard as well. Brett Myers got it real bad, for his comments in the off-season. But none could compare to the hatred shown towards shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who also made some comments about how his team was "the team to beat". Mets Introductions- The first coach, or anyone for that matter, to get a nice reception was first base coach Howard Johnson, who actually got the nicest ovation of the day. Willie Randolph received a nice round of applause, as did Mr. Jose Reyes. Reyes was met by the ever famous "Jose" chants. David Wright was not met by the greatest cheers, which was a sup rise to me, but nevertheless, got a nice little ovation. Endy Chavez got a massive cheer both when introduced and when he pinch ran in the eighth inning. The only player to get booed somewhat was Aaron Heilman, which was terrible in my mind. Obviously it was due to his performance against Atlanta the day before, that does not warrant a boo in my mind at all. He did get some cheers, however. ...you can not boo aaron heilman, arguably our best reliever. you can't. inexcusable. however, a nice job by howie rose on the intro... The Game- The fans were not really "amped" during the game, probably due to the freezing temperatures. I, while sitting in the upper deck, wore an Under Armour, a sweatshirt, and my Carlos Beltran jersey, an I still needed a blanket. I would have to say the fourth inning was when the fans really got into it, more specifically when Rollins grounded into the inning-ending double play and in the bottom half of the inning when Valentin hit the two run single to take a 2-1 lead. The Mets fans were generally displeased from the getgo from when Randolph brought in reliever Ambiorix Burgos, who replaced John Maine, who looked decent, giving up only 2 runs despite only pitching 4 2/3 innings. Although Burgos got the last out of the fifth inning, he imploded, letting two men get on, ultimately leading to a three run homer by the first baseman Howard. How eve, the eighth inning was insane. The fans were going wild after the Rollins boot, the wild pitch by Geoff Geary, and the near grand slam by Wright. All in all, a terrific game. And a terrific job by the fans. ...a great game indeed. the place was packed, over 56,000, and the scoreboard indicated it was a new record for shea stadium. the lines were long at every establishment in the place. it took me 10 minutes to get some fries, 5 minutes to go to the bathroom, and 10 minutes to get a sausage and peppers, a line that i got off after realizing it would of taken forever... ...unfortunately, i did not take the train, and the traffic was crazy. as the game ended around 4:30, i got home around 6:30. not to mention, we got in a little fender bender, but that's a story for another day... ...not to mention i was on tv, during the intro for the game on sny. very cool... **From the Mind of Allan**
Last off season, the Mets traded young first baseman Mike Jacobs for proven Carlos Delgado. Im sure I'm not the only person in the world to be doubting that trade right now. Last season, Carlos went into a prolonged 2 month slump, taking up most of the summer. Now lets be honest everyone, he was a rally killer and hes starting to do it again. He continues to strike out miserably or poke weak grounder into his shift. So im starting to wonder, after Mike Jacobs hit 2 HRs today, was that a bad move? I know its early, but we saw this all of last season and no one seemed upset because the mets were winning. Jacobs dominated when he was here and had a decent season last year. So this thought just sorta crossed my mind, and probably some of your's too. I truly hope I'm wrong on this one. On the other hand, Sal isnt worried. He thinks that this has to do with Carlos missing part of spring training due to his baby boy.

When David Newhan was retired by the fat slob, I said to myself, we'll live. Yes, it was excruciating painful watching those pathetic, annoying tomahawk chops, but what was more annoying these past two games is that the Mets beat themselves. On saturday, they were poor in the field and today, they couldn't cash in on opportunities, especially late in the game. I know its early, but since Delgado's 2 run double on opening day, he has looked like the Delgado we saw in July and August last season. Always weakly grounding out or striking out looking awful. I must admit I'm a little nervous about him, I dont want him starting one of him prolonged slumps. Maybe him buddy Shawn Green can help him out! Green is playing very well thus far, hitting that HR in the 2nd was very nice to see. Not to be out done was my favorite met, thats right, Ramon Castro, completely annialating his HR, wow, that was crushed!!! I'd like to see him pinch hit. Who cares is theres no one else to catch is Lo Duca gets hurt, Lo Duca never gets hurt. Lets bring it home tomorrow. Cant wait to hear...Now Batting... The Shortstop...Jimmy Rollins...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, ya, im so scared of the 1-5 Phillies!

Tonight, the 3-0 Mets will battle the 3-0 braves in a battle for 1st place in April! It seems weird thinking this is a big series in April but this one kinda is. Our Ollie Perez will take on All Star pitcher Mark Redman. Both are lefties so this game will also let us know how the 07 Mets handle lefties as they were horrible against them last year. Lets go Mets (Hoot!) Thursday, April 5

Most of you know the Baltimore Orioles now own the TIDES. Besides David Wright Wasn't even on the tides last year or even two years ago. So why do they still have him on the web banner? If We are posting about this it must be a SLOW news day. Don't Worry The Zephyrs are playing Tonight!

Jack From Islip Writes:
Why are you guy's SO pro SNY? I don't like SNY so much because they spend to much time talking about the Yankees. The anchors aren't even that good. The only thing good about SNY is the actual MET game. Pre-Post Game live, Daily News Live!, Sportnite, and Mets Weekly Stink. The Sports news is just like ESPN. Well Jack, SNY is putting MSG away regarding the sports news besides for Knicks and Rangers. YES* is to exclusive. They don't have ANY Sports News shows. FSN is just Islanders, Devils, Sports list, and BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD. Besides for that they have poker and Boston Skiing. And ESPN is a good Sports channel, But they Are National so they have to much sports stuff (like Golf And Tennis) that baseball fans Don't care about. So SNY is one of the better sports channels. ENJOY THE SEASON JACK, SAL and ALLAN *What Makes YES even worse is MIKE AND THE ANGRY PUPPY |
